2017 Beauties of America Pageant ® Titles Awarded
San Antonio, TX * August 6, 2016 * Josephine Theater

The National Offices of Beauties of America are pleased to announce the selection of the 2017 title holders. The Beauties of America Pageant began over 30 years ago with the purpose of ‘Celebrating Beauty and Achievement at Every Age’®. National Director, Ché White tells us “The Beauties of America Pageant philosophy has always been that women are fabulous and unique at every age, and pageants should reflect that.” With this in mind, the Beauties of America competition is divided into age categories: 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. Women compete in Photogenic, Interview, Fitness and Evening Gown with other women in their age category only. The contestant in each age division with the highest cumulative score wins the national title.

The 2017 competition was presented Saturday August 6th in an entertaining show format at the historic Josephine Theater in San Antonio, Texas hosted by emcee Albert Soliz, with featured national vocal performer, Naybu Fullman. Pageant weekend began with a casual Meet and Greet Reception for the delegates and staff. Competition began the next morning with Personal Interview; each delegate interviewed for 5 minutes with the judges panels. The day continued with pageant rehearsal and an enjoyable Red Carpet Dinner where the delegates and guest enjoyed a light dinner and the chance to get to know each other more. The next day was the ‘On Stage’ competition day. Delegates made their way to the historic Josephine Theatre for rehearsal and competition. The pageant began with honoring our military as Naybu sang the National Anthem, and then contestants were showcased in a fashion show style introduction. On stage competition began with Fitness Competition and continued with Evening Gown Competition. Audience and delegates also enjoyed the wonderful vocals of Naybu Fullman singing Uptown Funk and Here and Now. The judges found it difficult to choose one winner in each age division from such intelligent, beautiful competitors but in the end the job was done. The 2017 Beauties of America pageant ended with the much anticipated awards and crowning ceremony. Lorena Monroe (50’s delegate) won the People’s Choice award which is given to the one delegate in the entire pageant whose program magazine photos raises the most money. Carla Stroh (60s delegate) won the Media Award which is given to the delegate that makes the most appearances prior to the pageant. Yvette Koehler (40s delegate) won the Miss Congeniality award; voted by the other delegates and awarded to the contestant who was the friendliest and most helpful throughout the competition. Billye Fietz (Beauties of America Diamond) was awarded the Something Beautiful Award which is given to the delegate, volunteer or titleholder who the director feels embraces the spirit of pageantry and Beauties of America. Photogenic Winners: Karsen Koehler (20s), Jennifer Luna (30s), Margaret Blunk (40s), Lorena Monroe (50s) and Doreen Luke (60s). Evening Gown Winners: Bonnie Smith (20s), Jennifer Luna (30s), Yvette Koehler (40s), Lorena Monroe (50s) and Carla Stroh (60s).
